Networkers International is a multi-award winning global recruitment consultancy, operating in a wide variety of sectors. The Company did not have a dedicated in-house training manager and consequently no structured learning and development programme in place for their managers and recruitment consultants. The business had a good retention record with many employees with over 10 year’s service. The task of finding a recruitment training company that they could trust had proven to be challenging.
Networkers International wanted to create a development programme for their senior consultants and managers engender a more meaningful relationship with their staff and boost morale at a time when most companies were cutting back on learning and development. Networkers International decided to use the economic downturn as an opportunity to help up skill staff and put them in a stronger position to do business as the market turned around.
Initially a robust Training Needs Analysis (TNA) was conducted including time observing sales consultants, speaking to managers and listening to directors. The TNA helped Networkers International gain confidence that an external training specialist could deliver a learning and development programme that reflected their culture and mirrored their business style. From this TNA a competency framework was designed and an extensive development programme directly linked to the development of the skills and competencies required to develop the delegates. A training register also helped manage the administration of the varying training requirements of some 100 plus delegates.
Networkers International consultants are more focused on forward business planning and their managers have the tools and the skills to ensure the learning and development programme is applied at sales floor level and has a direct impact on individual consultant’s results. Consultant feedback has been positive and the skills they’ve acquired have ensured that they do their job with greater effect. The group expects profits to be above the top end range of market expectations for the year ended 31 December 2010 and Net Fee Income and placement levels have demonstrated good growth through 2010.
